How to reach Capri and the Hotel

Location
The Hotel is situated in the centre of Capri, looking out towards the sea, in a peaceful pedestrian area where the only vehicles you're likely to see are the tiny electric carts used to transport merchandise and luggage (see how to get here for further details). Visitors' tranquillity is guaranteed, and guests are able to experience the pleasure of strolling along the island and of contemplating Capri's many unforgettable panoramas, undisturbed by traffic.
The Piazzetta, Capri's main square is a leisurely walk away, like the shopping streets of Via Camerelle and Via Vittorio Emanuele, which commence just steps away from the hotel.
The Charterhouse of San Giacomo, and the breathtaking viewing points of the Gardens of Augustus and Tragara are, likewise, within easy walking distance of the hotel.

How to arrive
Once in Capri, from the harbour to Hotel Regina Cristina
Once you have arrived at the Marina Grande port, go to the Piazzetta. The most convenient way is by the funicular (3 minutes, price 1,60 Euro per person) or by taxi (slower but more comfortable; approx. 10 minutes, for a cost of 20 Euro circa).
To get to the hotel from the Piazzetta, walk down the main shopping street Via Vittorio Emanuele. Once arrived in front of the Hotel Quisisana, take Via Federico Serena on the right and after 20 meters you find the Hotel Regina Cristina on your right.

Baggage porter's service
Remember that from the Piazzetta, Capri's main square, onwards, all car traffic is strictly prohibited. For this reason, it is best to entrust any heavy or cumbersome baggage (12 Euro for each item) to the porters at the ferry and hydrofoil arrival areas for transport to the hotel.
There are also porters who can take your baggage to the hotel from the Piazzetta in Capri centre for 6 Euro per item. You will find them at the taxi stop (1 minute on foot from the exit of cable car in the opposite direction to the hotel).

We wish you a pleasant journey. Please do not hesitate to contact the hotel for any further information you might require.

The hotel will be pleased to arrange transportation to and from the hotel. A complete transfer service includes:
- Car in Naples
- Hydrofoil tickets
- Taxi in Capri
- Hostess to accompany guests by taxi from the port to the Piazzetta and then on foot as far as the hotel
- Porter service for 1 piece of luggage per person from the port to the hotel (12 euro for each additional item)
The costs are:
- For one person - Euro 90,00
- For two persons - Euro 70,00 per person
- For three up to eight persons - Euro 65,00 per person

Travelling with a vehicle
If you have a car bear in mind that non-residents can embark their cars for Capri in the off-season only (normally between November and late March), and only on the ferries. Cars are of little use on Capri, much of which is pedestrian access only, so visitors would be well advised to leave their vehicles in Naples or Sorrento.
In Naples, you will want to leave your car in one of the city's authorized and guarded car parks. There is a small parking area next to the molo Beverello (parcheggio Buono tel +39 335499658). If this car park is full, try the Parcheggio di Interscambio Autosilo Brin in Via Brin (tel. +39 081.7632827).

Embarking for Capri from Naples
You can get to Capri from Naples by ferry (the crossing takes about 80 minutes, price approximately 10 Euros) or by hydrofoil (50 minutes, price approximately 18 Euro);
Boats leave Naples from the port of Beverello (hydrofoils) and from the smaller port of Calata di Massa (ferries). Beverello port is by far the most convenient, as departures are more frequent and you have a larger selection of hydrofoils.
Regularly updated timetables are published by tourist office (www.capritourism.com) or can be supplied by the hotel.

Once in Naples you may reach the harbour:
By Taxi
So as to avoid unpleasant surprises it is advisable to take licensed taxis only. The price of the ride is indicated on the taximeter, which must be used by the driver.
We suggest you ask for the fixed rate to be applied. These rates are available for the journey from the Railway station or Airport to the port and include every type of supplement (holidays, luggage etc.). They should be requested prior to commencing the journey and foresee a fixed route, thereby excluding passengers the option to ask for route variations. The cost is 22 Euros from the airport (about 30 minutes) and 10,50 Euros from the railway station (about 15 minutes).
By car
If you arrive from the north, leave the motorway at the Napoli turnoff; take the ring road exiting at Naples, then after 15 km take the turnoff for Fuorigrotta and then for Porto/Molo Beverello.
By bus
A less expensive yet comfortable alternative are the CLP (private coaches) that leave every 30 minutes from terminal 1 (arrivals side) for Piazza Municipio. The ticket, which can be purchased on-board, is around 3 Euro; the trip takes about 40 minutes. Bear in mind that the coach goes to Piazza Municipio, which is a 3-minute walk from molo Beverello.

Reaching Naples from Rome
To reach Naples from Rome you can fly (a mere 20 minutes flight time, but only really worth considering if you are arriving on a convenient connecting flight), take a train (1 hour and 10 minutes from Termini train station to Naples train station; times and tickets on www.trenitalia.com ) or travel by private car with driver (2 hours also).
By car you can arrive straight to the port but it is a much more expensive choice since the private car with driver costs around 420 Euros while the train costs about 40 Euros per person.

If you choose to travel by train you should note that there are three train stations in Naples. Napoli Centrale or Piazza Garibaldi are the nearest to the harbour and where the great majority of long-distance trains arrive.
Embarking for Capri from Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Ischia
Regularly updated timetables are published by the tourist office (www.capritourism.com) or can be supplied by the hotel. You can get to Capri from Sorrento by hydrofoil or Fast Ferries (20 minutes, price approx. 15 Euro).
In the high season you can reach Capri directly from Positano, Amalfi or Ischia. You should be aware that Positano does not have a real harbour and crossings are made only in perfect weather conditions. Sorrento is located about 45 minutes from Positano and 90 minutes from Amalfi by car.
